Jimersontown Water Treatment Plant and Elevated Water Tank

Salamanca, NY

  • This $6.5 million project includes the construction of an elevated water tank and water treatment plant which enables the Seneca Nation to provide water services to Nation members and residents in Jimersontown on the Allegany Territory. The 500,000-gallon elevated water tank was completed in May 2009 and is the tallest freestanding pedesphere-style water tower in North America at approximately 228 feet tall. The elevated water tank services 170 households in the Jimersontown community, the Lionel R. John Health Center, the Seneca Allegany Administration Building, the Early Childhood Learning Center, and the Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel. Work included the demolition of the existing elevated water tank at 100 feet tall post-construction.
