The development and growth within the Allegany Territory gave rise to the need for improved water and wastewater infrastructure to effectively address environmental concerns. SCMC constructed a new state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. ft. facility to collect, convey and treat wastewater generated within the newly formed Allegany service area, including the Seneca Allegany Casino and Hotel, the Seneca Allegany Administration Building, the Lionel R. John Health Center and Jimersontown. The $20 million facility was completed in July 2009 and includes a product testing laboratory.
