The demolition project required the handling, removal, packaging and off-site disposal of asbestos-containing materials and debris from a former multi-building, furniture plant that was destroyed in a fire. The vacant buildings were once the headquarters for the Fancher Furniture Co., which began operations in 1911. The required coordination between SCMC and inspecting environmental agencies.
