Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, located in Niagara Falls, NY, was formerly known as the Niagara Falls Convention and Civic Center. It was acquired by the Seneca Nation and opened solely as a Class III gaming facility in 2002, a transformation featuring 82,000 sq. ft. of gaming space with 2,595 slot machines and 91 table games.
The casino’s success promoted construction by SCMC of an $80 million, 26-story, 604-room hotel with a 15,000 sq. ft. world-class spa, a pool and terrace, and a 2,000+ seat multi-purpose events center designed to accommodate all forms of entertainment, from concerts to sporting events to banquets. With the expansion, the casino offered 110,000 sq. ft. of gaming, more than 3,300 reel and video slot machines, 95 table games and a poker room with 23 tables and additional restaurants. It is ranked as the largest hotel in New York State outside of Manhattan.
